In 2009, in a neighborhood in Iowa, USA, 23-year-old Matthew Allan McNelly and 20-year-old Joey Lee Miller set out to burglarize an apartment.

In a stroke of genius, they shifted their thinking: instead of avoiding CCTV to successfully commit the crime, they would disguise themselves by drawing on their faces with various colors so they wouldn't be recognizable even if they were filmed. Modern education truly fosters creativity!

Of course, after successfully committing the crime and returning, the two realized the truth only when they looked in the mirror.

"Huh...? It won't come off...?"

Permanent markers couldn't be easily erased with regular cleansers!

Because of the thick drawings on their faces, the two were forced into hiding for several days, unable to go out during the day and sneaking around at night, relying on vending machines.

Several days later, late at night...

A resident saw them from afar buying bottled water from a broken vending machine. The drawings on their faces were easily recognizable even from a distance, and remembering their faces from TV, the resident reported them. Police soon arrived and arrested them at the scene!

주민이 봤습니다.

얼굴의 그림은 멀리서도 금방 알아챌수있었고

tv에 나온얼굴이란걸 기억해 낸 그는 신고했고

곧이어 경찰이 출동. 그대로 현장에서 검거!

“CCTV만 피하면 되는 줄 알았는데…
